FreeHand (Mac) xtras thatcreate crop and registration marks, masks, construct and manage pages and a stamping function.
- B'box Xtra - A newly developed XTra for FreeHand now makes it possible to easily create crop and registration marks in FreeHand. You can either choose to access Bbox XTra through a separate palette or in the FreeHand menu. Values for crop mark size, distance and point can all separately be defined. These settings can either be performed numericaly or with the help of a slider. Both types of reference marks can be created on existing element groups without the need to make any changes to them. Even if you change the type of measurement in FreeHand, the XTra automatically adapts the crop and registration marks for you. All inserted marks can now be included on all color separations and created within seconds. Settings are saved in FreeHand to be used again.
- Insider Xtra - An XTra to save time in FreeHand with the integrated mask function. Insider XTra easily lets you modify masks created in FreeHand without resolving it. It works like the FreeHand function 3Transform2 and can be activated when the mask has been activated in the document. You can now move, rotate, scale and mirror embedded objects. After modifications have been made to the mask, it is automatically recalculated and updated. You can disable the function to work with fixed coordinates by clicking on the lock next to the entry field for X and Y values. Later, you can re-enable the function by again clicking in the lock. Any settings and options can not be saved by FreeHand. This XTra is truly a time saver and probably one of the most useful XTras available.
- Pages Xtra - The Pages XTra lets you handle all pages directly in your active document with a new tool. You no longer have the need to refer back to the small and representation of the spread on the central palette. All important page options are now made placid and easy to use right on the spread surface. You can either to create new pages or move pages by just clicking and pulling. Or duplicate pages with drag & drop. Scale and create pages with click & drag. Delete pages just with a mouse click. Just set different key combinations to perform page set-up lets you manage and construct your document within minutes. All important settings are saved in FreeHand preferences and therefore available the next time around. Exact positioning of multiple pages is possible with snap distance.
- Stamp Xtra - The Stamp XTra provides the FreeHand user with a real stamping function. You can design complex patterns i.e. for backgrounds within minutes. The patterns created with this XTra are more than simply filled objects, but are copies of reference objects and therefore can be edited; random pattern distribution. You determine size in min and max, rotation of object by angle. The developer has tested this XTra to provide some figures for you: On a Quadra 840AV with FreeHand 5.5.1 it can stamp 999 stars with 20 anchor points on an area of 21. x 29.7 cm in 30.52 seconds. Try cloning and moving your elements to create the same effects in the same time. You will agree that this is utterly impossible. On the same computer type, stamping of 323k TIFFs with same settings done in only 16.84 seconds.
- Template Xtra - Now it is possible to use as many templates in FreeHand as you wish without great file and file name administration.. The XTra is called Template XTra. A single window lets you handle and activate all templates at once. Create as many different sets as you need in almost endless numbers of different templates. Your only limitations are your own computer capacities. The special highlight of this XTra: it allows you to save up to 250 characters of informative text with each template. This means that every seat that has the Template XTra installed has access to these notes. You can simply click on the page icon to create a new document without needing to go back to the various menus. Other options are renaming or grouping sets. All sets and templates are saved in the same directory as your own FreeHand version. You can now quickly access the template you need e.g. for a certain client.

Close & Smooth from Pat Dunlavey Cartographics
Close was written to address a situation that is common in cartography,
where paths which are intended to be closed, come into FreeHand
(usually via DXF) as unclosed paths. This is especially common
with data deriving from GIS databases, where the closed attribute
of a path is not explicitly defined in the geometry, but rather
in a linked attribute which does not survive the translation into
FreeHand.
Smooth was written to address another situation that is common
when working from imported GIS data that usually come into FreeHand
through a process which does not support continuous curvature
in paths such as contours and streams.

The Delete Space At Paragraph End Xtra corrects a problem that sometimes occurs when opening a FreeHand 3 file in FreeHand 5.0, 5.0.1 or 5.0.2. In FreeHand 3 if a line of text ends with a space character before a return, sometimes the space character will wrap to the next line when opened in FreeHand 5.0, 5.0.1 or 5.0.2. This makes the text look like it incorporates an extra blank line between paragraphs.

Unlike other envelope effect generators, the KPT Warp Frame extension achieves its effects by distorting the curves directly, adding points only when absolutely necessary.
