My first cartographic wish would be that someone would produce
an xtra to automate the process of getting a dashed line to line
up equally on either side of a node like the circled area and
not like the three other corners.

Do you have any requirements? If so, let me know and I'll display
them here so hopefully someone will read them and produce the
things we need to make our lives that little bit easier.

"How about support for plug-in tools. Specifically HotDoor's CAD
Tools package for Illustrator. I have been begging for a compass
tool which would let me draw arcs from a radius point or arcs
of specific radii and length for about six years now. And just
when one comes on the market, Altsys/Macromedia change their specs
so it can't be used. I mean, hey, it isn't like they were meeting
the need themselves!
Also; I need to be able to measure the length of a path between
two points. Not the distance between two points on the screen.
I don't CARE about the bloody distance on the screen. I want to
know how long the segment of LINE between those two points is,
no matter how much said line may twist and curve between them.
I also want to be able to place a point on a path and measure
a specific distance along that path to place my second point.
(CAD Tools also has a tool to do that, and Macromedia has evidently
decided that if they don't choose to provide this feature, nobody
else had better do so either.)
There are no doubt other things that would come in handy as well.
But these are the two main ones. I have a project that's been
hanging fire for the past six years because I can't get the proper
TOOLS!!!"
